About
I am the lead writer for a national Medicare Part D plan that has been awarded four stars by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. I’ve been helping plan members better understand Medicare and get the best value from their benefit since 2006.
As a senior advocate, my mission is to help beneficiaries make more sense of Medicare, save money on their medications, and lower their overall healthcare costs.
I started this blog while attending Boston University as a graduate student in the Masters of Science in Health Communication program. My blog is something I now do on my own time to help Medicare beneficiaries. This blog and any comments within are strictly my own, and in no way associated with my employment.

I just stumbled on your blog and am genuinely enjoying it. I was an associate director of communications at Medco for more than five years I (left the PBM in 2003) and am now doing independent contract work for a number of healthcare organizations. Medicare is indeed a maze for seniors, their adult children, and even for experienced people who work in the healthcare industry. There is such a need to provide guidance to people in plain English. Keep up the nice work. Feel free to contact me: maybe we can brainstorm some ideas together.
Carol, thank you so much for your kind words. I apologize for getting back to you so late–WordPress has an annoying habit of putting all comments into a Spam box, so I never get to see my readers’ comments until I take time out to sift through all the spam to find actual comments! I will definitely be in contact with you.
